I am a recently retired attorney and former College Professor. After beginning my career as an Assistant District Attorney in New York, I opened up my own practice, specializing in litigation and trial work. My major client was Mercedez Benz of North America. I also taught for 16 years as an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University. I also worked as a director and actor in New York where I taught drama. Recently, I have been working for The Home Language Institute, teaching English as a second language to international students and individuals from all over the world. I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement and using literature to engage students and to teach English. I also taught a course in Law and Literature at Nassau Community College.

I strongly believe that life is all about education and the pursuit of knowledge. Simply put, I love to teach. Consequently, I bring a passion to my teaching that my students both appreciate and enjoy.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

I have been working with high school students for the past several years helping them navigate through the all important, but often overwhelming, college admissions process. Helping them choose the right college for them. One that matches their interests, both academically and socially, their strengths and their personalities. I also work with them on their essays; all with one goal in mind:' securing admission into a school that is both academically recognized and concerned with the quality of student life.' As a former college professor and educational lawyer I am familiar with the type of essay colleges traditionally value. Moreover, last year i visited many of,the major colleges and universities in the North and Southeast including Duke, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Cornell. I am also familiar with most American colleges and Universities; their academic strengths and their weaknesses, their campus environment and the services provided to ensure that the student's journey through their college will be a successful one. Finally, I assess their job placement office to determine how successful they are in placing their graduates into meaningful jobs upon graduation. The school my students have been admitted into include: Barnard College of Columbia University, New York University, SUNY at Buffalo, SUNY at Geneseo, University of Miami, Fashion Institute of Technology, Indiana University in Bloomington, and Brandeis University.

The college admission process is often confusing and overwhelming. Let me be your guide.

Criminal Justice

I received my law degree with Honors from George Washington University Law School, and my trial training on scholarship from Georgetown University Law School. I taught law at Adelphi University as an Adjunct Professor for 16 years. I received my Undergraduate degree, graduating Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. I also taught drama and attended Ithaca College as a Drama major.
