Anatomy

Anatomy is one of the most basic courses in the health sciences and requires a lot of memorization. I will assist you in organizing how to study and help you gain a comprehensive understanding of body systems. Anatomy is utilized every day in my practice as a Nurse Practitioner.

Physiology

Physiology encompasses all organ systems of the body, how they work and how they interface. It is a lot of material to cover in one semester so I will help you get organized and teach you how to study more effectively. Twenty-seven years in Nursing with 19 of those years in Advanced Practice Nursing have allowed me to gain a deeper integrative understanding of how the human body works. I present the information in an understandable way so you can optimize your learning.

Nursing

I have taught nursing for both online and on ground programs as well as clinicals in the hospital setting. I will assist you in understanding nursing concepts and with learning how to approach your exams in the nursing program.

Study Skills

Organization is the key to good study habits. I teach you how to organize your subject material, how to power read to maximize your comprehension and how to stay focused. Knowing WHAT to study is the key! Additionally, if your classes use application questions on exams, I will teach you how to look for clues for choosing the best answer!

Religion

With a Seminary degree in Christian Ministry, I can tutor you in Christianity including Bible studies, church history, etc. Knowing the cultural & political climate within which Scripture was written will give insight to the meaning & intention of the passages included in the Bible.

NCLEX

Knowing HOW TO TAKE THE TEST is just as important as knowing your subject matter inside and out. I will teach you how to look for clues in the questions to help you find the correct answer. Experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and Adjunct Faculty for Kaplan University will tutor for NCLEX. Can tutor by phone or in person.

Pharmacology

I can assist you in understanding pharmacology concepts and how they relate to medications used for the various body systems and illness. This is a highly technical course and one in which many students struggle. I have also taught this course in a nursing program.
