I grew up and was educated in London, England. My parentage is French and Italian and I'm fluent in French and English. I came to the U.S. after I finished school and quickly learned my proficiency in writing and art would either land me a job in advertising or in public relations. I chose PR and never regretted it. This is a career in which I never stopped learning. I was lucky to have worked with clients in a variety of industries. This helped me acquire a good knowledge base in many fields. During my career, I spent a great deal of time training junior staffers in public relations, and communications. Hence, my interest in tutoring in these skills and also writing/editing and strategic planning.
My 30-year public relations career spanned the foregoing disciplines, which also included community affairs, corporate social responsibility and strong relationship building skills -- instrumental in my career development especially when dealing with the media on behalf of my clients.
Early in my career, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to use my knowledge of French. I translated business and technical documents from French into English and vice versa.
I spoke French before I spoke English having learned it at home. I continued to study the language in school and beyond.
I learned the Berlitz method of teaching conversational French. Berlitz is a top-rated language school.
I also studied fine arts at the Hornsey College of Arts in London, England, and can provide tutoring in still- and real-life drawing, too, using different drawing tools.
I reside in Florida with my husband, Jay and our shih tsu, Huntleigh.
