Greetings students and parents!
I am a graduate from the University of Notre Dame where I attained an in-major GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 and received 5-7 scholarship and grant awards annually. Prior to Notre Dame, I attained a perfect first year GPA of 4.0 and was heavily involved in the Harvard University community in Cambridge, MA where I took courses while working full-time.
Before college I studied at a competitive New England prep-school, and then Valley Forge Military where I was the only senior Dean's list student who was also a starting varsity football player.
My life experience is unique in that I worked six years in several different industries before going back to college ranging from Government and Defense contracting to non-profit and Hollywood media marketing.
Additionally, I have studied learning disabilities, worked with autistic children, children with ADHD, gifted student profiles, and am also happy to share any insights from my journey with all of my students as I strive to help them achieve their goals. I was able to do this first-hand last summer as an inner city youth college prep mentor, teacher, and SAT tutor for a program in Anacostia, Washington D.C.
As I have learned, many intellectually talented students and professors are not necessarily able to effectively engage and empathize with students who are discouraged by a particular subject matter. I have the added benefit of experiencing both sides of academic outcomes and overcoming these challenges. In my early years of middle school I struggled to stay enthusiastic and complete homework assignments. Through trial-and-error, hard work, and determination I eventually progressed to taking classes at the Harvard University Extension School while working full-time and most recently was accepted to the Notre Dame full-time MBA program.
I believe many learning methods today have simply become outdated in an age of technology where children need to be engaged in an enthusiastic and creative way in order to keep their attention, not only increase their test scores, but their sense of self-confidence and passion for learning as well.
I look forward to serving you and your child's needs!
