Kelly is an extraordinary tutor. She has gone above and beyond in helping determine the needs of my son and focusing in on the skills that are lacking in order to efficiently move him up to work at his grade level. Not only is she obviously a very intelligent and gifted educator, but she has connected with him like no other. She has a way of meeting the child where they are and earning their trust, so a reluctant student becomes willing and excited to learn. I'm so happy that we found her on WyzAnt and consider her a blessing.
Kelly replied on 2/10/2014:
Molly- I want to thank you for such a lovely written review. I love your son dearly and enjoy watching him grow. I am so glad we have identified the areas needed for growth and I thank you for this time in his life that I am privileged to share.

Kelly is able to reach my 16 year old without him rolling his eyes at her. Her ability to connect with both parent and child is wonderful. I am very fortunate to have found a tutor who cares about my son and his progress is as important to her as it is too me. Kelly goes above and beyond. She really cares.
Kelly replied on 2/6/2014:
Thanks Debra so much for your kind words. I love to work with your son, he is coming along and he is fortunate to have parents willing to invest their time and money into tutoring. With a little academic discipline, I think we can move along nicely. To me, it is not a job. It is a passion and I try to pass that excitement along to the students. Thank you again.
"Very Patient and Great Tutor"
Sri from Jacksonville, FL on 11/19/13
Kelly is a great teacher and will try to get answers from the students. She is helping my son for two years in AP European History and AP US History. Now my son loves history classes even though he is overwhelmed with other IB Subjects. She has vast knowledge on different subjects and she can teach different subjects. I'll recommend Kelly to any one who is looking for a tutor.
Kelly replied on 11/21/2013:
Thank you so much Sri for your review! You know how I feel about your son after two years! I love him like he is my own. He may struggle at times but he is also maturing daily and I am watching him grow.

"Tutor with Professionalism and Relationship Skills! "
Gwyn from Jacksonville, FL on 7/12/13
Kelly has been working with my son only a few weeks now, but she connected with him right away. She sees him as a bright young man and has been supportive to his weaknesses and promotes the positives! She is kind and leads him through each lesson with a little bit of humor thrown in. He looks forward to her visits. She knows how to set expectations while being fun! I am excited about continuing and I recommend her to anyone who has a child in need of someone supportive and encouraging.
Kelly replied on 7/15/2013:
Thank you for your kind words Gwyn! I too am excited about working with your son this next year in homeschooling. He is a great kid and really has a thirst for learning and that is a credit to you.

Kelly is communicative, and seems quite enthusiastic about her tutoring. My daughter enjoys her reading lessons with Kelly and is improving her reading skills.
Kelly replied on 4/17/2013:
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I enjoy working with your daughter so much and wish you all lived here all year! Although I do envy you for being able to move back to Canada during our horribly hot summers! I will miss working with her and hope you return next winter!
"Patient, sweet and fun"
Mary from Jacksonville, FL on 9/19/12
I have a young preschooler who has tried numerous preschools over the last year. Sadly, I have not found a teacher or school environment that could enhance and encourage his inquisitive nature and exuberant personality. I have noticed most preschoolers are left to fend for themselves and hardly have any interaction with their teachers from whom they are supposed to learn. I decided that learning at home would be an option worth exploring. When we first met Ms. Kelly for a tutoring session, she had immediately engaged my child. She was very sweet, patient and really listened to what my child had to say instead of shushing like most teachers would do. She is very flexible as far as what my child is interested in learning about for the day. She also makes learning fun. As a result, my child is flourishing and looks forward to learning more everyday. We appreciate Ms. Kelly very much and look forward to working with her for hopefully the years to come.
Kelly replied on 7/17/2013:
Your child is absolutely the MOST precocious child I have EVER worked with! What an articulate, bright little 4 year old you have! Good job, Mom! Thank you for the wonderful review and I hope I can assist you in homeschooling him for the rest of his school career in the years to come! Together we will make a great team!
"Fun Tutor Who Reaches Kids"
Sue from Jacksonville, FL on 7/28/12
My kids really enjoyed working with Kelly - a middle school girl and boy who had to get up earlier than they wanted to for the session. That should speak for itself! They enjoyed the lesson and time flew by. We are looking forward to working with Kelly to finish summer reading and get started on the right foot in the fall.
Kelly replied on 8/1/2012:
Sue! Thank you so much for this nice review! I so enjoyed your awesome children and really look forward to working with them this school year to partner with you and with them to make this their best school year ever! Thank you again!
"It is a relief!"
Pauline from Jacksonville, FL on 7/3/12
My granddaughter who is seven was diagnosed as dyslexic recently. We didn't want her falling behind, so I engaged Kelly H. to tutor my granddaughter while she is visiting this summer. My granddaughter immediately connected with Kelly, which is easy to understand. Kelly engages easily with children, is very demonstrative in her manner, and understands how to reach a youngster who not only has felt inadequate because of her learning disability, but is of a shy nature. Kelly seemed to understand that eye contact and reaching my granddaughter on her comprehension level is key to helping her with her phonics issues. What I enjoyed most is seeing Kelly drop to my granddaughter's eye level at first meeting, and watching my granddaughter warm to Kelly without any prodding. My granddaughter now looks forward to her sessions, and recently asked if she could bring her young cousin to meet her "new" friend Kelly. I have seen my granddaughter gain confidence, and now is eager to begin reading "chapter books" after only two sessions with Kelly. This is a tremendous stride forward for my grandchild.
Kelly replied on 7/3/2012:
Pauline- What a humbling reference you wrote for me. I was so touched. The things you said are what every true teacher should aspire to reach! I adore your granddaughter and watching her grow. She works so hard at each session. I know the summer will fly by and I will miss her so! Thank you again! Best regards, Kelly H.
Leslie from Jacksonville, FL on 7/1/12
Ms. Kelly has a true passion for teaching and a love for kids. I've seen people come in and talk about teaching and talk about how much they love their subject and know about their subject, but they never mention the kids. Ms. Kelly goes above and beyond to make the student feel comfortable and that she wants to be there to help them in any way.
Kelly replied on 7/18/2012:
Leslie! Thank you so much for your kind words. I truly enjoy teaching and am so pleased we found each other! Your daughter is a joy and I am glad she is comfortable! We work hard but we also have loads of fun doing it! Thank you again!
"Very Motivational and inspirational"

Not only does she excel at teaching a variety of materials, Kelly H is a very motivational and inspirational tutor. I noticed a significant change in my son's attitude towards school and self confidence.
Kelly replied on 8/1/2012:
Vilma- Thank you so much for your kind words! Your son is a great kid and I really am seeing him grow and mature as we work together. I know we will have a great year! Thank you again.
"Experience is key"
Frederick from Jacksonville, FL on 3/20/12
Kelly H. has been remarkable to say the least while turtoring my 7th grader. She is a very good listener to both the parents and the child. She gives my child the reassurance that's needed to feel comfortable to accept any educational hurdles. She's very focused and proactive in getting right to the point of helping my child in his reading comprehension and writing. I do believe that my child will be more successful in all his academic challenges and be more prepared in processing information and applying it to everyday learning.
"What a difference!"
Ramonia from Jacksonville, FL on 3/19/12
I am incredibly impressed with Kelly. After all this time, my daughter has had no interest in reading nor anything really related to learning more about grammar. Well, now I can see all the things I've been trying to get her to understand is all coming together. Ms. Kelly has made the impossible, POSSIBLE. Thank you so much. She received an OSCAR for her performance of Edgar Allen Poe on this past Friday. She is so excited and her confidence is growing.
"Flexible teaching style"
Dana from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL on 2/14/12
Kelly was able to get to the heart of my sons study habit needs/problems. She is able to get him engaged in the material and he has a more positive outlook.
Kelly replied on 7/17/2013:
Dana! Hope you are having a great summer! I so enjoyed working with your son this past school year--and we got through International Relations! What a relief for both of us! I look forward to seeing him again in the fall. Thanks again for everything!
