Hi,

I have a Masters in Special Education and have taught in Elementary: K-8th, Special Needs High Schools and at the community college level for adult students who needed to learn English or pass the GED. I am bilingual: English and Spanish. My strong areas in tutoring include helping struggling readers, understanding grammar, vocabulary development, improving reading comprehension, helping English Language Learners and providing interventions for students with Special Needs. I could also help with K-8th Math and Pre-Algebra. I like to teach students both reading and math problem strategies to encourage them to become more independent in their questioning and problem solving approaches. For students who need to increase their score on the TOEFL, I also have experience helping international students raise their writing and reading comprehension scores. In general, I have a very good personality and enjoy conversations; therefore, if your goal is to increase listening comprehension or improve your conversational English, then I could help you.
