I am a instructor at a major state college. Previously I was a practicing analytical chemist who has been trained in the West Indies. I have a deep interest in passing on my knowledge of chemistry and math, helping college and high school students to succeed in the science field where the need is great. I have helped in the past 4 years students (including my daughters) to pass general chemistry 1 and 2, organic chemistry and physics with grades of B and higher. I have tutored many high school students in algebra 1 and 2, and geometry, also focusing on making sure the concepts for the FCAT has been grasped for mathematics in the past 3 years. The tutoring sessions can be one on one or as group setting. In the one on one setting, the student is assessed and approached at the level they are introducing them to the basics necessary for success in the course. My students in the past have expressed the opinion that if their lecturer/teacher had explained the subject matter in the way I do, they would have done much better before my help. I love to tutor students who are really interested in understanding chemistry and math and have peaked the interest of students who were not at this level.
Since tutoring I have seen many students come to love both chemistry and algebra. Although I am now an instructor at a college, I recognize the need for students to have a good foundation in the sciences so I am offering my services especially to students who want to have this.
