A true teacher and effective tutor can make the most trivial matters seem exciting, the most intimidating problems seem effortless to solve, and the most hopeless situations hopeful. With this in mind, I am seeking to assist, empower, and improve the learning and the lives of students by providing my prowess in the disciplines of reading, literacy, and social studies. I have experience and a track-record that exemplifies special skill and expertise that impacts and benefits the learning growth and progress of students of all behaviors, personalities, cultures, and learning levels.
With ten years of professional teaching experience as well as in a law enforcement investigations unit, one is well aware of the vitality of being a team player. To that end, I am able to assess efficiently the plethora of strengths and weaknesses that students and people in general possess: some academic, social or emotional. Nonetheless, I have consistently been committed to identifying strategies for improving students’ scholastic achievement in addition to their social and emotional health alongside my cohorts to ensure an auspicious future for my students.
My professional experiences are as diverse as the student population of the county where I am currently employed. This includes: seven years of working with a complex group of blighted youths and their (often) destitute parents with the assistance of the State of Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice and Broward Sheriff’s Office Child Protective Services. It is because of these agencies that I have been better prepared to discern forthcoming social, emotional, behavioral needs and the problem-solving techniques best used to ensure professional compliance based on legal, moral and ethical implications.
