Hi, my name is Andrew, and I am studying Nursing at the University of Miami. I have experience in a wide variety of areas including math, science, English, Spanish, and salsa dancing.
In regards to math, I can tutor up to pre-calculus and have had experience in tutoring as a member of Mu Alpha Theta, which is the math honor society. By illustrating with examples and verifying conceptual comprehension, I make every effort to bring students to a full understanding of the concepts. I also wish to see them become independent students who can learn to grasp material through personal study.
With my major in nursing, I can assist with high school chemistry, chemistry for health professionals, and Anatomy & Physiology. Understanding that these are difficult subjects, I desire to break down the barriers and help students understand, as this understanding is vital to progression into future health related fields.
With a strong undergraduate background in English as well as personal experience with standardized exams, I can tutor in English and grammar. I received excellent scores on my ACT and SAT in the English category, and transporting that knowledge to my students will lead to their future success.
After four years of Spanish and earning a 5 on the AP Spanish language exam, I would love to assist students to achieve the same goals. Not only should students pass the tests in class, but also they should constantly practice to become comfortable with the language.
Finally, after years of dancing experience, along with working for a dance studio, taking a workshop with world-renowned Nery Garcia, and teaching private lessons in my home, salsa is one of my passions! My goal is to turn students into real dancers. I am not satisfied with merely knowing turns. I push my students to strive for excellence in their dancing within a warm, inviting, and friendly environment.
It is my deepest desire that all my students come out with knowledge to pass their courses and knowledge to conquer their future goals, as learning truly is a life-long process.
