Sharing my knowledge in my areas of expertise and contributing to your educational experience through conventional and innovative teaching methods is one of the main goals in my scientific and teaching career. For this reason, I have sought out opportunities to share my enthusiasm in different biological sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology, immunology biochemistry, molecular biology), written communication, and research methods at different levels. My approach is student-centered, and the main goal is helping you make academic progress and learn.
I earned a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, and completed a postdoctoral appointment at the Bloomberg School of Public Health of the Johns Hopkins University to further enhance my biological, microbiological, writing (scientific and non-scientific), and scientific methods.
I am also a Science Teaching Fellow of the American Society of Microbiology, which is a highly selective and focused training program in which fellows enhance their science teaching skills with in-depth webinars, pre-and post-assignments, structured mentoring, and community practice. I have been able to put into practice the science teaching training by being an Adjunct Professor in various universities of the South Florida region.
My teaching philosophy is not limited to helping you remember and understand the material but also to help you apply, be analytic, able to evaluate the material, and be creative in your biological sciences, research methods, and written communication. In addition, I will teach you in a progressive manner, provide the necessary feedback, and be encouraging. Through this group of strategies we can have an excellent teacher-student experience and at the same time excel your learning.
Looking forward to sharing my knowledge and teaching you!
