Are you having trouble with certain concepts in your classes? Do you know the material, but somehow you are not able to perform well on homework/quizzes/tests? Or, are you looking to get a head start on a new course? My name is Frank and I have successfully helped students with the previous three scenarios (and more). As your tutor, I will use an analytical approach to evaluate your overall knowledge and find ways to help you reach your target goals and excel.
My love for education started in elementary school and persists to this day. Math and science are my strongest areas, and I majored in Biology and Neuroscience during my undergraduate career at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. To me, simply learning and doing nothing with the material is no fun. I find more satisfaction in using what I have learned to help others. It was this feeling that encouraged me to become a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate microbiology laboratory course, which has been one of my most meaningful experiences. For once, I was on the other side of the teacher's desk. I helped students perform experiments and understand concepts that were covered in the lecture course, and in turn, I gained skills in communication and teaching.
During our sessions, I will use an active learning approach to help you with concepts or problems that are troublesome. My goal is not only to help you understand the material. I also want you to be proficient at what you are doing. Allow me to help you achieve success in the classroom and beyond!
