My name is Luz, and my passion is computers and Information Technology. For me, it is very satisfying to be able to teach other persons that are also willing to learn computers, and I enjoy a lot training people face-to-face.
I can teach people of all ages, including seniors that want to learn computers, from basic, to intermediate and advanced levels.
For students with basic level, my computer skills include: Windows (XP, Vista, 7 and 8), MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); using the Internet to search any information, use E-mail, Skype, Social Media/Facebook. I can teach you how to use all of the tools that are built into Windows, how to change configuration settings to personalize a computer, and anything else that the student wants to learn.
For more advanced students, I can also train in Hardware and Software issues; Technical skills to improve performance of computers and to fix them; How to fix a virus, spyware and malware in general; Networking setup and troubleshooting (wired and wireless); Improving speed of computers using different tools (Defragmentation, Disk Cleanup); and Cloud Computing (OneDrive, Dropbox), within others.
I graduated in December, 2011 in Networking Services Technology with an A.S. from Broward College. During the time that I was studying, I also worked in the campus as a work-study employee in the Computer Lab of the Computer & Engineering Department, tutoring students of Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint (2007, 2010) and others.
Back, in 2011, I also completed 450 hours of computer training in PC Technical support and recently this year I completed a training in Networking & Microsoft.
My Certifications include: Microsoft Office Word 2007, Certified Internet/CIW Foundations, CompTIA A+/PC tech support, and Network +.

The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for computer support technicians. The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ certified technicians also have excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients.
The Network+ demonstrates the ability of a networking technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support a network, and understand various aspects of networking technologies, including TCP/IP. It also tests knowledge of network components and where they function in association with the OSI model, network cabling, network security, and network troubleshooting.
I feel very comfortable tutoring privately to students, as I also provided private tutoring to students of BCC. I am fully bilingual (English, Spanish).

I am CompTIA A + Certified, which means that I passed the CompTIA Essentials & Practical Application Exams. The Essentials exam concentrates on understanding terminology and technology, how to do fundamental tasks such as upgrading RAM, and Windows operating system support. The Practical Application exam builds on the Essential exam, concentrating on advanced configuration and troubleshooting.
I have worked with all the versions of Windows, including Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
