Hello, I am Cassandra and I have been a tutor for over 15 years. I view tutoring as an option to improve on a subject while enjoying the flexibility of one-on-one classes. Tutoring is not meant to be a replacement of classical teaching methods but it does afford the pupil the opportunity to address areas of weaknesses and, in so doing, gain the confidence needed to rejoin the classroom with more resources and a brand new set of skills. Tutoring is also an option for people looking to brush up on a skill they had, and, it is also a way to acquire a skill they might need for the workplace or for better performance in the academic world.
Having lived half of my life overseas, I have had the chance to interact with various cultures and I am quite at ease with people from wherever they might be. I am aware that being armed with the best possible academic resources, gives one access to the many opportunities they will encounter in their lifetime. I honestly believe that learning and bettering oneself is a lifelong process and it is certainly an ongoing one. Being a holder of two Bachelor's degrees, I am now in the process of earning a Master's in Diplomacy. I envision continuing to learn and grow not only in academics but in all aspects of life.
I started teaching languages 18 years ago. My first experience was teaching EFL (English as a foreign language). I, later, received training in Reading (AMERICA READS) and I also chose to add those areas of studies whose expertise I have gained through my many years at the university. I am very flexible and I not only teach elementary school age children but I also tutor middle and high school students as well as 1st/2nd year college students and continuing adult education.
I look forward to an enriching experience tutoring you or your children. You will find that I am a reliable and highly dedicated professional who believes, as has said the great Nelson Mandela, that: "Education is the most powerful tool which we can use to change the world."
