I am a proud graduate of the University of Florida, where I majored in psychology. While in high school and college, I tutored other students in a variety of subjects. I have tutored all ages from elementary to graduate students. I have a minor in English and music. On the pre-med track I received A's in anatomy/physiology, microbiology, chemistry, statistics 1 & 2, nutrition, and many other science/math courses. I have played the piano and the violin for ten years and am certified. I have aced several technological courses such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and other graphic design programs. I am well versed in 2D animation and web design. I was also chief editor/designer for my high school's newspaper and yearbook.

Dedication, patience, and adjusting to the specific needs of students are a few of my methods when tutoring. Each individual has his/her own learning style, and I try to cater to whatever that may be. Some students need the information to be applied to everyday situations, whereas others simply are visual learners. Children respond better with visual stimulation and rewards. Algebra is translated to mean the "reunion of broken parts". It is the branch of mathematics that studies of the rules of operations and relations, and the concepts involved with this. Certain topics in Algebra include: polynomials, equations and algebraic structures. Algebra involves so many branches of math. For example: geometry, analysis of functions and number theory. I try to make this process as simple as possible.

ASVAB

The ASVAB tests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math,

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taken courses in elementary education. These courses include: Child Psychology, Development Curriculum, Development Education of the Exceptional Child,Introduction to Education, Philosophy of Education,Teaching English as a Second Language, and Teaching Science/English/Mathematics/etc. Furthermore I have taught several small groups of children in elementary subjects ranging from math to drama.

Basketball

I coached basketball for several years with an after school sports program. I personally played basketball in highschool and received a scholarship to play in college. furthermore, while in college I volunteered as a coach in the local YMCA. I love the sport and I'm very passionate about it.

Adobe Photoshop

I have taught 2d-animation and graphic design for 3 years. This class uses Adobe Photoshop as its primary computer program. Photoshop's principal image manipulation procedures are: contrast and brightness control, color balance and correction and the use of filter algorithms to provide image blur, despeckle, sharpening, unsharp masking, and dust and scratch removal. With practice, the toolbox allows for the elimination of parts of the image, and the paintbrush and pipette to fill in.

College Counseling

First of all, I have a bachelor's in psychology which provides insight on effective counseling techniques. I have worked with community programs that deal with college counseling for at risk youth. I am a psychology/education major specializing in Special Needs. I taught classes with students who had dyslexia for over 3 years. Additionally I've conducted sessions and had to diagnosis students with dyslexia. There are different degrees of dyslexia and every student is different.
