I am a secondary school teacher with eight years of experience teaching English and Reading at the 6th through 12th grade levels. I also taught reading in an adult education setting for two years and have tutored numerous students at elementary through high school levels.
A teacher should create an environment that is conducive to building analytical and critical thinking skills, boost students’ confidence in their own talents and strengths while instructing them in strategies that will enhance and build their academic skills. A dedicated educator must also concern themselves with creating lessons that are challenging and relevant in order to ensure that students have every opportunity to develop into responsible, contributing members of their communities.
