I have just returned from living for 6 months in Europe, where I studied in Prague, Czech Republic, and received my TESOL/ESOL Certification. It was a great experience and while I was there I got to work with adults in the business settings, as well as school settings, and children in primary (elementary) school, helping them to learn and grow their English speaking skills with a native speaker. Prior to that, I taught a technology education course at the University of Florida for 2 years, working with undergraduates, but my basic training is with kids in the general elementary classroom. I hold a temporary FL Teaching certification for K-6 grades, an endorsement from the state of FL in Elementary Education and now my International TESOL/ESOL Certification. I enjoy working with students of all ages and really think a hands on method of learning is key to understanding. For children, I believe in the use of games as well as practical application. If you enjoy what you are doing you don't even realize it is learning. I can work with all ages and through all Elementary school subjects. History, English and computers are my favorites. I like to learn about new cultures and travel frequently. I think that really helps me when teaching non-native speakers because I can really understand living in a world where you speak very little of the language.
