I have tutored Math, Physics, Chemistry and other Physical Sciences, along with computer skills, for over thirty years, including several years of classroom teaching. Thus I work equally well with individuals and groups. I began tutoring while still a college student; and so have always understood and related to the frustrations, fears and anxieties that students face. My focus is not only to help with the subject at hand, but also to increase the student’s overall confidence and skills in the entire academic process.

I have developed an excellent, tried-and-true method for helping students with problem-solving. This method, once captured and practiced, can be applied not only to their Math and Science work, but to any area or situation that requires problem-solving skills.

I have worked WITH and ON computers for more than thirty years. I currently work full time as a Microsoft Online Services Support Engineer, supporting Office 365 and Exchange Online. This deals heavily with Microsoft Outlook and the rest of the Microsoft Office Desktop Application Suite. I hold the following Microsoft Certifications:
• MCTS
• MCTS – Windows 7 Configuration;
• MCTS – Windows Server 2008 AD Configuration
• MCTS – Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Configuration;
• MCITP
• MCITP – Windows 7 Enterprise Desktop Support

In addition, I have completed courses and received the following application user certifications: Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.

I am not currently STATE certified in teaching English. However, my first three years in College were spent studying the Humanities, before transferring to Engineering. These classes gave me extensive experience in all of the necessary skills for effective communication: Spelling, Grammar, Usage, Paper Writing and reading. In my College Humanities studies, I also gained a vast understanding of not only authors and themes, but how their works tied into the History and culture of their time. Additionally, I have been certified by WyzAnt in Reading and Study Skills.

Regarding Group Rates, I will not endeavor to teach a group unless I am certain that EVERY STUDENT can benefit from the session and successfully learn the subject. (The student's success is more important than group teaching.)

I have already been background-checked and finger printed through both Broward County Public Schools/Florida Board of Education and the US Department of Defense.

References are available upon request.

You are welcome to contact me at ANY TIME with any questions you may have. (My Full-time employment is on the over-night shift, so I am often awake during odd hours, even on my days off.)

All the best to you.

Sincerely,
Curt

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
