My name is Oswald M. I have passed a FINRA.org Series 7 General Securities Representative License examination. Also, I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Law and a Certificate in Finance. Throughout my career, I concentrated and polished my skills in Finance that later sprung my passion about Mathematics. I am currently pursuing a combined program BS & MS in Mathematical Science and a Certificate in Actuarial Studies at Florida International University, in Miami, Florida. I started tutoring during freshman year at University of Lima, in Lima, Peru. I was part of the study group leaders; this is when I discovered that I loved teaching! I joined "Mariscal Castilla School", a military institute in Trujillo, Peru, and prepared high school seniors not only for their college entry tests but also tutored college students for their midterm and final exams. I taught Pre-Calculus Algebra & Trigonometry as well as College Algebra.

I am a very demanding and interactive tutor, I go through exercises and occasionally assign homework to further reinforce and assure that my lessons are being absorbed. Lesson agendas and teaching methodology vary depending on your needs and the understanding of the weaknesses and strengths of each individual student. For example, it is important to identify from the beginning the predominant learning style of each prospective student such as visual, auditory, read-write, kinesthetic, or the mix of these learning styles. I am flexible but at the same I measure success by results, so I expect that grades and exams should substantially improve with my mentorship. I strongly believe that everyone can reach vast and great deal of knowledge if you put enough effort. There are many tests that challenge our creativity and rational thinking, but I guarantee that practice is the key to success. Sometimes, I don't have the answer right away, but I think that learning is a team accomplishment between student and professor. My mission is just trying to help students to kick start their own study path.

Hello WyzStudent!

My first touch in English was in my home school. Then, I took ESL English Classes Level 4, 5, and 6 at MDC. Now, I am pursuing my MS in Applied Math at FIU, so I had to take TOEFL PBT & IBT at FIU (ELI), which was not bad at all, because it allowed me to master the material pretty well. I got 600 on the PBT and 90 on the IBT

Hello WyzStudent!

Geometry (the visual math) and algebra (the written math) are the foundation for differential calculus. I've been teaching geometry & trigonometry for freshman and sophomore college students, in Lima and Miami.
