I have been a TA for university level biology for 3 years where I tutored 1 on 1, in groups, and graded more term papers than I can recall. I have degrees in both chemistry and biology as well as a minor in mathematics. I have 4 years of experience working with children in a non-traditional learning environment. I am talented at explaining "why" something needs to be understood as well as SAFE makeshift demonstrations of theoretical concepts. I specialize in lab report and scientific paper construction as well as proofreading for substance, grammar, and cohesion. I adapt well to all learning styles and especially excel in helping students with a desire to learn. Lastly I am extraordinarily patient. I look forward to helping you or your child achieve a higher understanding of biology and chemistry.

*Update: I most recently spent a year teaching high school chemistry & biology; unfortunately I found the class sizes to be too taxing and have returned to private 1 on 1 and small group tutoring.

FYI-
I am never smelly.
I respond promptly and I am generally available on short notice.

Organic Chemistry

I completed a year of organic chemistry in college suitable for a chemistry major culminating in a top quarter percentile score on the american chemical society (ACS) exam. Additionally I completed a full year of biochemistry (highly related to organic chemistry) and a semester of advanced spectroscopy in which the text was focused on organic molecules. Additionally completed coursework in "advanced spectroscopy of organic molecules".

Excellent Tutor — I can strongly recommend Matthew as a tutor. He is extremely patient and well versed in the subject matter. I have seen a significant improvement in my daughter's test scores and comprehension of chemistry. As Matthew is so even tempered, the lesson progresses smoothly and he will take the time to ensure that my daughter understands. ...
