I can teach/tutor algebra and geometry in a unique way so that my students can remember the method easily and make fewer or no mistakes in exams and quizzes. As a faculty at the university, I have enormous experience tutoring/mentoring students. The reason that I would love to work with children is that I realize that education starts with children. I would like to help them with a good start, not only with the skills of understanding algebra, resolving problems, more importantly, the attitude of studying and the habit of becoming successful in the future – all starts from our children. I would like to interact with both parents and student in order to understand the needs of the student and achieve the ultimate goal(s) for the tutoring. I may also have some homework assignments for the student to ensure the student’s understanding and mastery of the subject.

Language is another area that I am very passionate about. I taught English to Chinese students in China before and I am teaching my friends Chinese now! Mandarin is one of the most difficult languages to learn in the world. It starts with the four different tones and there are skills to master these tones before one starts to learn Chinese words. I will first assess the level of the student’s Mandarin (i.e., spoken, reading, or writing), and based on the student’s needs and learning objective, I will outline a plan session by session and re-adjust as needed. I speak fluent English so that there will be no issue communicating with the student.

I received my bachelor’s degree in International Business in one of the top universities in China. I came to the U.S. in 2003 and earned my MBA degree in Finance and Management Science (i.e., applied statistics) at the University of Miami. My job is mainly in business consulting as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, leading project teams to improve processes, helping management resolve problems, and mentoring students in the projects.

My students enjoy working with me, for they not only have improved their grades and study skills, they have become more confident. Confidence is half way to success!

SPECIAL NOTE: I will respond to your message very quickly but I will NOT be able to see your phone number in the message until you have a valid payment info in WyzAnt system, which is required by WyzAnt. Hope you understand. Thank you and I look forward to working with you!
