As a parent, I understand that we all want our children to be successful in their academic and personal endeavors. As a teacher, I understand that children have diverse experiences, needs, learning styles, and motivations. For the past twelve years, I have been a full-time parent and a full-time educator, with a passion for creating life long learners of students ages 3 to college-age. It is my desire to provide students with the requisite tools and skills essential to becoming motivated and successful learners in the 21st century.
Oftentimes, student success is a simply a function of assisting the student in finding meaning and relevance in the material to be learned. And sometimes, students may have a neurobiological challenge, such as dyslexia or auditory processing issues which have not been adequately addressed. And sometimes, a student's learning style is different than that of the instructor, thereby making it much more difficult for the student to comprehend information.
My parenting, teaching and tutoring experience, coupled with my Master's of Education degree in Brain-Based Teaching and Learning have provided me innumerable joyful opportunities to see the children in my life grow and prosper academically and personally. I am hopeful that I can assist you in providing that to your children as well.
