My name is Rebecca, M.Ed. My passion for literature and writing began in eleventh grade while working on my research paper. I am a graduate of Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami, where I then went on to obtain a degree in professional writing at New York University. I then went to University of Miami and majored in English with a minor in Theatre Arts Performance. While there, I was the president of the honor society for English majors and published my first paper on the British poet, Matthew Arnold. Upon graduation, I went to University of Hartford to receive a Master of Education degree specializing in teaching high school and college students English and standardized test preparation. I graduated from there with an M.Ed. in 1996.

I currently am a private tutor in the following subjects: SSAT, PSAT, SAT, GED, COOP (Catholic School Entrance Exam) and The Miller Analogy Test. SAT Reading

The SAT reading section is actually called THE CRITICAL READING SECTION. There are two types of questions on the critical reading portion of the SAT:sentence completion questions and reading comprehension questions. This section directly tests your reading and vocabulary skills. I teach my students several strategies, techniques, and how to make the most of their time.

PSAT

The PSAT is given to students in the tenth grade. It is identical to the SAT. However, the essay is excluded. This test has a verbal section and a math section. The results from this test are important. The scores allow the student to know which areas of the SAT he or she is strong in and weak in.
