I have been in the field of education for over thirty years, most of which have been as a Guidance Counselor in education. I migrated to the US since 2006 and shifted my focus to the teaching of English. I presently teach English to GED students at MDC. I am also an ESOL teacher at the same college. I am fascinated about how different people learn and have always accepted that in learning, one size does not necessarily fit all. Consequently, I try as best as possible to 'tailor' lessons based on a student's needs. I love working with people and enjoy what I do. I have a strong sense of humor which many times assist my students to become comfortable in my company.
I am totally honest in terms of telling students if I lack the knowledge in a particular concept but always do research to find answers or confer with others in the field of education, to find the answers. Students often evaluate me as a teacher who is extremely professional and patient and I strive at all times to exact excellence from my students. So what can a prospective student expect from me? A tutor who is committed, patient, respectful and who sets high standards for both herself and her students. I deliver!
