Prior to that position, I was a Corporate Trainer for a mid-size Cleveland-based corporation, small business owner, and IT Trainer for a non-profit Cleveland-headquartered organization.

Spanish

Being a native Spanish-speaking American from Puerto Rico, I have first-hand experience learning, applying and teaching Spanish since a very young age. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree from La Universidad de Puerto Rico, I have tutored English-only speakers as well as international students on both the written and oral aspects of the Spanish language. Through WyzAnt I have helped several students here in the U.S., a few of which were gracious enough to post their feedback on my profile.

General Computer

In the past 4 years I taught first-quarter college students basic computer skills along with Microsoft Office 2007 applications. In 2009 I passed 5 Microsoft certification tests in Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Outlook 2007, Windows Vista for the Business Worker, which also allowed me to receive 2 additional certifications as a Microsoft Certified Office 2007 Master and Instructor.

Chess

I have played chess since a very early age, and enjoy teaching it to children and adults of all ages. I recently taught my 7-year old daughter how to play it, and she has been fascinated with this game ever since.

Another mind-challenging game that I love to teach and practice --and also taught my 7-year old-- is Sudoku.

Public Speaking

I have been speaking to audiences of all types in both English and Spanish since my college years (late 80's). In 1996, I joined "Toastmasters International," a well-known public-speaking organization, and in 2000 I achieved a "Competent Toastmaster" Award for successfully completing 10 projects on public speaking and leadership.

Microsoft Outlook

I have taught and worked directly with Outlook in previous job opportunities. In 2009, I also passed Microsoft's Office 2007 certification for Outlook --as proof of my expertise with this application.

Microsoft Windows

I have worked in Windows-based computer environments since 1997, and taught the basics of Windows XP in the last 4 years to first-year college students. In June of 2009, I passed Microsoft's "Windows Vista for the Business Worker" certification as part of my Microsoft Office 2007 Master and Instructor certifications.
