I provide customized, professional tutoring experiences in a very relaxed, fun environment. Learning doesn't have to be a bad experience. I know how to make it fun and easy to learn!

Everyone learns differently. Why settle for a cookie cutter learning experience?

My focus is on developing customized, fun tutoring experiences that match the learning style of each student. I rotate through various teaching methods to understand how the student learns. During this process I am actually studying the student's mind, while he/she is studying their material. I pick up on certain patterns that indicate how well they're retaining the new information. This process allows me to develop the most effective learning experience for each individual student. I also introduce humor/fun into the session as much as possible. From my experience this keeps the student interested and able to focus during the entire session.

I graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics from Florida Atlantic University in 2012 and I'm currently working as an Adjunct Economics Professor at Broward College.

In addition to my graduate degree, I also have an undergraduate degree in finance and 2 years work experience with two very well-known wealth management firms. I can work with students who need help in the areas of Macro/Micro Economics and Math.

I look forward to working with you guys/girls!

Algebra 1

Algebra is taught very poorly in schools and it's frustrating for students to grasp some of the concepts. I'm able to explain the concepts in many different ways so we can find the best way for you to learn it.

During my graduate level coursework in economics we used algebra heavily. I have practice questions available that we can work through to perfect your algebra skills.

Business

I have worked for two of the top wealth management firms in country, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch. I've created numerous internet based businesses, including my tutoring business here at WyzAnt, a successful investment fund, and a professional web design company.

Econometrics

I have a deep understanding of econometric models and methods. In my graduate studies I have taken Advanced Econometrics and Time Series Analysis courses in addition to undergraduate intermediate level econometrics.

Currently I am co-authoring an econometrics paper with Dr. Ky Hyang Yuhn of Florida Atlantic University. The paper examines the relationship between increased activity in futures market s and volatility in the spot market. The Vix index, a measure of implicit volatility, is used as a proxy for volatility.

I am also working individually on a second paper titled, “Testing for Cointegration in select Exchange Traded Funds and Futures Contracts”. In this paper we put the efficient market hypothesis to the test as we seek to profit through the use of pairs trading. Pairs trading is essentially simultaneously trading two closely related assets. If it can be proven that the two time series are cointegrated, that is to say they share a common long term path, then we can trade the assets when these assets stray some level away from their paths. In this paper we detail how to test a time series for stationarity. If the series is not stationary we demonstrate how to take the first difference of a data set to transform it to a stationary series. To test for cointegration we regress one of the level series on the other level series and store the residuals using common statistical software packages such as Stata or R. Then we test this series for stationarity. If stationarity of the error series exists than cointegration is present between the two assets series. Now that we have confirmed cointegration is present we can trade the two assets in pairs by shorting the outperforming asset and buying the underperforming asset. Over time this strategy could allow an investor to make “extra returns” which would discount the efficient market hypothesis. I can be of assistance to those who need help in numerous areas of econometrics including hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, time series analysis, ARIMA, GARCH, VAR, heteroscdasticity, autocorrelation, ACF, PACF, logit, Probit, STATA.

Economics

I am a huge fan of Austrian Economic theory which is not focused on a great deal in public universities. The Austrian Theory places a great deal of emphasis on the "Structure of Production". The structure of production refers to "what" we are actually producing in our economy. "What" we produce is much more important than "how much" we produce. This is the key to economic prosperity.

I am very familiar with all of the major theories in economics including:

Keynes Theory

Monetarist Theory

Classical Economics

I have a Master's Degree in Economics from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.

Look forward to working with you guys,

Sean

General Computer

I run successful internet based companies. I can teach you whatever you would like to learn.

Golf

I've played golf for roughly 15 years. I maintain a 3 handicap and play most of my golf at West Palm Beach Golf Course. I am familiar with the stack and tilt method and have incorporated many of the principles of this method in my swing. Giving golf lessons is enjoyable for me. I love watching a new player start to enjoy the game and develop a passion for playing. I can help with all aspects of golf including driving, iron play, short game, putting, course management and the psychology of golf. Much of this game is mental in nature and working on this aspect can greatly lower scores.

Microsoft Excel

I am very familiar with Excel and many of its useful features. I've used Excel in many applications including:

Preparing financial reports for previous employers

Utilizing all of the statistical features for school reports in the area of quantitative methods in business

Preparing very professional graphs and tables for presentations

I can help with all areas of Excel and I look forward to working with you guys

Microsoft Word

Hey Guys!

Microsoft Word is an extremely useful word processor that has many attractive uses. Using Word we can create letters to send to friends, businesses, and others. We can use Word to create very professional resumes. We can create a presentation to show to creditors, potential clients, etc.

I am extremely knowledgeable with the many features of Microsoft Word. I would be happy to work with you to improve you skills in this area.

Look forward to working with you!

STATA

I have used STATA extensively in my econometrics studies. We used STATA to form regressions and obtain coefficient estimates and standard errors used for testing statistical significance of given variables. I have experience using STATA for ANOVA, GARCH and ARIMA modeling, LOGIT, PROBIT, maximum likelihood, stationarity tests, cointegration, heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation, least squares regression, p values, etc. Many of my research papers including those that I am working towards publishing, include statistical analysis performed through STATA.

Statistics

I have a masters degree in economics. We use statistics heavily in this area.

In my opinion, professors do not present the material in an effective and easy to understand manner. I can and will do this for you.

I am very familiar with hypothesis testing,t tables, z tables, comparing means, difference in two means, comparing proportions, central limit theory, inferential statistics and other areas.

Excel can be used to greatly simplify the problems you are working on. I can show you how to leverage Excel to your benefit and get a great grade.

I look forward to working with you guys. Cheers.

Web Design

I work with the site builder VistaPrint to build custom designed websites for clients. I have built websites from scratch for my golf instruction business. My websites come equipped with credit card processing solutions, embedded videos, Facebook pages, site activity monitors and more! The site activity monitor is a wonderful tool to allow you to actually see where your site is being viewed, how much time people are spending on your site, demographics and other useful features.

In addition to building the website I can also assist you with internet advertising to promote your products and/or services. Using Google Adwords, Facebook and Youtube we can create target specific advertisements that will reach your audience in a very effective way.

Look forward to working with you. :)

From Lost to Found! Sean was great and very patient. I learned more from him in 2 hours than from my professor in 2 months! He made everything seem so simple and had a way of giving great examples! My statistics class has been very frustrating and when I left our first tutoring session today I felt great for the first time about this class! Because of Sean I feel like I will be able to end the semester that started o ...
