I'm a wife, mother of four, grandmother of four, and a great-grandmother. I am a very caring and patient tutor. Here are just a few of the subjects that I am qualified to teach: Reading Comprehension, Nutrition, Grammar, writing and other subjects as well. I love to teach students how to write essays and dissertations. I take pride in being professional, as well as having patience and good listening skills. I am a non-smoker, and I am well organized.
I have much experience with reading comprehension. I am eager to help you get better grades and feel better about yourself! I love to motivate and give hope wherever I can. One of my favorite professors once told me that if I kept a good sense of humor, I would always look on the brighter side of life, and be able to help others to do the same.
Here is my brief history: At a very young age, I was asked by my teacher in high school, "What do you want to be when you graduate?" I said, "I would like to go to college and take many different courses. Mainly, to expand my brain's ability to be able to tackle any job." My teacher laughed at that answer, however, I went on to graduate college with a G.P.A. of 3.75, Cum Laude as well.
In my high school years, I earned my school letters which went on my school sweater. I swam on the school and the AAU Swimming Teams. From elementary school to high school, I was also cheerleader, and joined the Pep Club. After school I took Tap, Acrobat, and Ballet classes. My parents were very proud of me because I managed to remain organized and committed to my goals. In return, I paid my parents back ten-fold by going to college, and finishing with honors! I can't think of any day back (in the day), when I was ever bored.
Since retiring, I volunteer at my Grandson's school. I usually help in specific areas such as the front office, classroom or reading room. I also have helped with the special needs children. I am familiar with children that are on IEPs, and/or have special needs in Reading Comprehension..
Thank you for reading my qualifications. If you are interested in my services as Tutor, please sign up with WyzAnt, and make your request known. I am ready to Tutor you or your child, so let's get started...

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Career Development is such an important part of any student whether you are going to go to college or not. Any age student could gain much needed insight by being Tutored in all the "ways and means" of development... needed in many different areas.
I do believe that anyone can be anything that they choose to be; studying with true commitment and dedication towards that dream/vision, can get one to their goal in no time.
As a dedicated tutor and a college retired professor, I truly believe I could make a difference in your choices and directions for that dream/vision you've been trying to go after!

In middle school and college, English was always a favorite of all my subjects. I still love the English language and all it's Prose and Poetry to life; generally speaking. I am qualified to tutor in this subject, because of my educational background as a medical/nutritional professional, as well as being certified to do so, through WyzAnt testing services. In the subject of English, there is not just writing in english that is important to know, but there is the need to be able to speak it correctly, relate to others correctly and expound in the language itself. I know how to write essays, dissertations, themes, statements, etc., and that's just the tip of the iceberg for knowing English in full. Plus, I have a Ph.D., which I had to do all of the things I just listed in detail. My method used in tutoring a student in the art of learning the English Language, is unique; whether it be their native language or a second one.
I use my knowledge in breaking up words, letters, structure, etc., which, I feel are of the most importance; as is using proper Phonics.
I am a retired Physician. I am a Naturopathic Physician with a Ph.D. I received my Nutritional Science degrees at LaSalle University, and my Master's in Medical and Nutritional Science degrees at NYU, with a 4.0 average with honors "Summa Cum Laude". I have done some Traditional and Alternative Medicine presentations. I have done several reports on the environmental ecosystem and what effects they have on our health and welfare. I have taught nutrition to children and adults, in either the public or private settings within Florida and other states. While in college I did a 250 page Dissertation on "Alternative Medicine Versus Traditional." I served as an Adjunct Professor for a few years and helped mentor Naturopathic students pass their exams. I believe my tutoring would be helpful to the college age student, rather than the elementary student.
It takes just one special summer or school year with time well-spent and a true commitment by you the student, and me the Tutor, to make a real difference in one's life!
Think about it and imagine the endless opportunities for you, knowing what your future holds, by earning a degree in nutrition or Ph.D. in Naturopathy!

Proofreading is used by many well known Authors. When one writes a book they usually need a "Proofreader" to make sure there are no mistakes in the writing's, etc. I have proofread a many a writer's work in my time, and with good accuracy. In school/College, there are many needs to be a proffreader in your own works and other's. If you think you need my services, please ask for me now. I am ready, are you?
I have Tutored Children and Adults in the proper ways to read and also comprehend what they have read. I am a very patient and caring, professional person. Although retired, I still love to tutor when I can. I have four grandchildren of my own and one great grandchild.
Elementary and Middle school teachers have used me in their classrooms and sometimes I was placed there just to be a good listener. I have helped in the Music room, the Reading room, the Media room, and many other areas in the school system. Having had a child with an IEP, has broadened my knowledge for the special needs of special students.
Sometimes it just takes a summer... one hour, one day a week to make a student go from a reader just beginning, to an average or above average reader. Whatever your needs, together with some solid commitment, you can actually up your grade level within a matter of time! Contact me and see the difference a summer can make!
My aptitude and experience in the subject of Speech, is one of various magnitude. I have helped students that have had speech problems over the past 7 years. My experience has been in private sectors and in the elementary sectors as well. My education, although in mainly medical field, did address in clinical and practical studies...the fundamentals of persons with certain disabilities, such as a speech problem, etc. I believe I can make a difference in a persons speech abilities; either by tutoring him/her on basic speech techniques, such as sounding out words, phrases, phonics, etc.
I believe to be able to pass any course or subject with great grades, one has to learn to use good study skills. I used various methods of study skills, in college. I went on to get certified, licensed, and graduated college with a 4.0 average, and with honors as well.
A Dictionary is just one good way to get to the answers for a lot of subjects. Although some might believe this is so simple, I found it to be of invaluable help. Also, 'Cliff Notes" became second nature to my actual books for my studies in general. So you see, the study skills you use today will obviously, follow you into tomorrow! You need to use every kind of study tool to help get you there!
I am retired from the medical field. I am very qualified to teach all strokes that have to do with swimming. I was in the AAU (now called USA), from 10 and under groups till I was 17 years old. I also swam for my high school team till I graduated. Having 2 practices a day, one for the AAU and the other for my school. This kept me very busy, to say the least. My stroke's were Freestyle, and Breast. My coach, was very strict but knew his stuff. I held a record for a time back in the 1960's; for 50 yard free @ 29.5. That of course has been broken, since.
I am qualified and head-strong, when it comes to the fact that all Children/Adults, should learn how to swim. Especially, since we live in Florida and are surrounded by water everywhere! So if you think it's your time to learn to swim for the first time, or just want to review the strokes (in your pool), I would be delighted to be your Swimming Instructor/Coach, now or in the future. I only teach/instruct, during the summer months!
Vocabulary is the usage of words; either used in phrases or in many different forms of conversations.
An example would be: The terms of service are defined exclusively for postal regulations, etc.
To be able to converse correctly with a person, one must know the words to use and sometimes these go in an alphabetical order.
Phrases such as The alphabet need to be in order of there existence, i.e., A B C...
