I am a retired professional singer and university professor. I have been both a division and department chair, a member of national board for the Lily Foundation in the Humanities and Sciences, delivered papers on topics in music and the humanities at national conferences, and have an extensive background in teaching at the graduate, undergraduate and high school levels. My teaching evaluations always ranked me within the top 2% of the faculty. I have been a soloist with major orchestras and choruses in the Midwest, have given numerous solo recitals, served as guest clinician and recitalist at the state and national level of the National Association of Teacher conferences, and done residencies at honor's programs at colleges and universities in music and the humanities in Minnesota and Massachusetts. I have also tutored individuals at the high school and college level. I have helped students prepare for college entrances exams, helped in writing theses and college papers, aided in study skills, reading and writing, and preparing for major exams. I love teaching and working with students. I am passionate about every student reaching their individual goals as well as motivate them to reach beyond their current levels of achievement. I am vigorous and demanding yet believe all my work with a student is centered around the concept that learning takes place when the environment is caring and open. I look forward to working with students in both individual and group sessions.
