Hi Everybody,
My name is Richard, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Engineering. While at school, I worked as a teaching assistant for various courses, including a probability math course at the graduate school level.
I have been tutoring for many years on the side besides my teaching job at the university. I specialize in math subjects for standardized exams, such as GRE math, GMAT math and SAT math. Almost all the students who sought my help were very delightfully surprised at their final high score. I help the students not only in understanding the material, but in test taking skills, and with the proper guidance, that can serve as a huge boost in your score. I have past students who can verify the results I have reached with them. The most obvious example would be student A, who struggled with GMAT with a 650 score for more than 5 months, and reached 730 with my help.
In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and concrete experiences in addition to worksheets. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style of the student.
I look forward to hearing from you!
