I am a graduate of the Florida State University with a degree in English Education. I am certified to teach English grades 6-12,and I also hold a Reading Endorsement and and ESOL Endorsement. Throughout my years at FSU, I worked with children ranging from pre-K to seniors in high school. I have worked in a high school teaching 9th and 12th grade, and I currently work in a middle school teaching 7th grade.
I have a passion for teaching and think that each student is different. As a teacher, I know that what methods work for one student will not necessarily work for another. I think that individualized lesson plans for the student, based on their specific needs are a must when it comes to tutoring. It is important for the student to feel comfortable and at ease with the tutor to ensure the maximum learning takes place.
I really do love teaching students of all ages about reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar. To me, these are essential life skills that the students should carry with them, not just forget after taking a test. Success in the present and continuing success in the future is my goal with each student.
