I am retired after working in both Graphic Arts management and Information Technologies. I have a BA with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. I have been tutoring math for the past 5+ years in all grade levels and college Math up to Calculus. I have also helped students and adults prepare for the GED and GRE. I find it very rewarding helping students master concepts that they have had difficulty understanding.

I am also very proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel as I have used it extensively throughout my career. I am very comfortable working with large complex spreadsheets, linked spreadsheets, table look-ups, complex calculations, and writing macros.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have been tutoring algebra 1 for the past 4+ years at an average of over 10 hour per week. I have tutored adults, college students, high school, middle school, and elementary school students. I understand the problems students have with algebra and I have been very successful in helping them over come these problems. I love those "AH" moments when a student reaches a new understanding of a concept. That is why I tutor.
