Les has continually gone above and beyond, and has consistently exceeded my expectations. I began a course completely foreign to my field of study and needed assistance right away. Les is very experienced and was able to do wonders to help me out in my Entrepreneurial Finance class. He is a great communicator, and does everything he can to make sure that his students are receiving the best lesson they can find. I would recommend Les to anyone taking a business-related course, he has truly been marvelous!
Les is very knowledgeable, clear, and adept at simplifying difficult concepts. He provides a wealth of additional resources concerning project management, and provides real world examples to further assist in comprehension. I will certainly be utilizing his services during my PMP prep process and beyond.
Les is very knowledgeable in Excel. Not only did he help me with my homework, but he went above and beyond by teaching me some "best practices" that I could apply in the future. He also assured me that he would do his best to make himself available for me whenever I needed him, which was much appreciated.
Les is a wonderful, very patient tutor! He is very supporting and understanding. He has great knowledge of project management, process management and six sigma and he is also a great coach. We recommend him highly!
I worked with Les on 2-3 Excel projects. Les is very easy to understand. I would say I learned more from Les in a one hour session than I did in an all day Excel Class. He is very patient and reliable.
Les is a very patient teacher with a passion to help his student to succeed. He is willing to go above and beyond to share his knowledge and expertise with his students.
Les really knows what he is doing. He is very professional and knowledgeable and he helped me write a few papers for my advanced business writing class. At the end of the semester, I earned an A.
I was fortunate to have found Les as my tutor. Les presented himself professionally right from the beginning. I learned a lot in the first two lessons. Les is responsive, punctual, organized, and thorough. He’s willing to share all the details to make sure the topics are wells covered. His knowledge and expertise would definitely help me a lot in my skill improvement goals. I will continue to have Les as my tutor in the future.
Les has the patience of a saint. What a lucky break for me to have selected Les as a tutor.
After months of searching for a good tutor to help me through my Business courses, I finally came across Les and he has helped me dramatically with my work, class material, and overall understanding of the course and topic in hand. He is smart, and very knowledgeable in many areas and is willing to take the time via the computer sharing method to really be there coaching you through homework problems, or whatever else you may need. I am very pleased with his services and appreciate his honesty as well. I will continue to ask for his help in the future courses. Highly Recommend!
I learned more from Les in one hour than I did in the entire last week of studying Principles of Finance. He was very knowledgeable and ensured I understood not only how to get an answer to a question but the concepts and principles of applying the formulas as well. I will definitely request him as my tutor again in the future. I would highly recommend him to any Finance student.
Les is very helpful and patient with all I have to know. This digital system is very new to me, but I hope some day to learn it. I often have to call him up to ask him questions on the phone. He always seems to understand my confusion and tries to help me with the problem. Also, he helps me in other ways like how to send my book to the publisher which I am very confused about with so many technical things they want you to do. I used to do offset printing and did not know that I had to learn this new digital printing in order to publish my book. I guess I'm just not up to this modern printing, but, with Les's help, I'm learning it.
Les is a great tutor. He has so much knowledge and experience and is willing to share and teach it to others. Les brought me up to speed in no time and gave very good pointers and suggestions. I would definitely recommend Les for any of your computer tutoring needs.
I feel that Mr. Les is very much like Annie Sullivan, (Hellen Keller's teacher). Can you imagine how difficult it must be to teach the not-so-academic? Mr. Les is: patient, punctual, professional, and clean cut.
Les is the blessing we have been asking for! Having said that, he has not only exceeded our expectations thus far, but his very pleasant nature puts my 11 year old very much at ease. My son looks forward to his Hebrew classes, which include Judaica. We would without any hesitation, recommend him to tutor any child or adult that is seeking to learn or improve their Hebrew skills.
Les has a gentle, non-threatening manner. He is encouraging at all times and does his very best to be helpful. I especially appreciate the written instructions he has sent after every session, because with me, the curve of computer forgetting is very high. These instructions serve as a handy guide and a way to remember these extremely positive sessions.
I enjoyed meeting Les and learned a lot from my first lesson in PowerPoint with him. Les is very knowledgeable and made PowerPoint more fun than intimidating for me. I am looking forward to my next lesson with Les and highly recommend him as a tutor. He also gave me great suggestions for upgrading my resume and opening an account with Linkedin. I highly recommend Les as a tutor and business advisor.
Les C. is a great tutor. Got here on time and gave me a great explanation. I would recommend him to everyone.
Very helpful, with a gentle facilitating style. He is extremely thorough and very professional, makes the lessons enjoyable and makes you want to learn more. Precisely what was required, thanks!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Test (ASVAB) is a timed, multi-aptitude test, which is given at many schools and military installations nationwide. It was developed by the Department of Defense to test you for your aptitude in eight different areas. Your sores will determine how qualified you are for certain military occupational specialties. The eight sections to the ASVAB Test are:
- Arithmetic Reasoning

- General Science
- Auto & Shop Information

My approach is to quickly define your current skill level and the areas you will need the most assistance. Then focus on the sections that you feel you need the most improvement. I understand that it is crucial for ESL/ESOL tutors be aware of the characteristics of their learners and develop lessons that address their strengths and needs of individual students. I have worked with some learners that have little formal education but a great command of basic spoken English, while others have an excellent grasp of formal grammar but are unable to understand English speakers in real life situations.
I plan lessons that build on individual strengths and address each student’s individual needs. I do this through an assessment of the student’s backgrounds, competency, needs, goals, particular areas of language requirements, and learning styles.
My most recent experiences include working with a High School Junior from China who was taking a Public Speaking course and needed ESL assistance in preparing for the course. This experience included practice listening, speaking, reading and writing that considered the kinds of communication that happen both inside and outside the classroom. I used materials, videos, flash cards, and other methods to improve the student’s ability to communicate and understand authentic English. I also encouraged the student to take advantage of researching outside of our lessons.
Another example of my ESL/ESOL was an MBA student from Santo Domingo who needed help in preparing both a written report and oral presentation of a business finance course. I planned our lessons to include ways to maximize the student’s real world experience in the language of business. My MBA degree and over 20 years experience in business was invaluable.
What makes my ESL/ESOL tutoring different and special is the relationship with the students, the knowledge about their culture and understanding of their attitudes and values. Then leveraging these relationships into learning experiences.
