My teaching career began over 20+ years ago after I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in English/Education. I feel I am a natural teacher with the ability to communicate with my students so that they are interested in the material and look forward to coming to my class. I started out as a middle school teacher teaching grammar and literature. I went back to school and received a Master's degree from North Georgia College and began teaching at the college level. In fact, North Georgia was so impressed with my 4.0 GPA, I taught there at North Georgia College. I taught composition, literature, and grammar there.
When I moved to Florida, I had the opportunity to teach at Edison State College on the Gulf Coast; then I moved to the East Coast of Florida and taught at South University, and Broward College where I taught composition, literature, and grammar. I also taught test-taking skills, reading for comprehension, essays, and research papers. I have also tutored students in English and prepared them for college-level tests. I feel my extensive experience makes me an asset to any institution. I like to give many examples so that students can relate to concepts and make the learning logical and fun. I feel anyone who works with me will find me professional and easy to understand. I feel I would be an asset to any institution.
