I am a veteran teacher who uses a variety of educational techniques to make learning a rewarding and enjoyable experience. My students said that they enjoyed my classes because of my respect for them and the interesting lessons.

I hold a variety of degrees. These include: Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, Master of Arts from Michigan State University, Diplome Semestriel from the University of Paris, 60 hours beyond Masters from Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland, and Intermediate Spanish Certificate from Solexico, Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

I am certified to teach ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) all grades, general subjects 1 - 8, and French 1 - 12.

I won the Outstanding Teacher Award from Montgomery County Public Schools. My extensive work experience includes: ESOL grades 1 - 12, elementary school grades 1 - 8, ESOL team leader, and ESOL tutor for adults and children. I am a native speaker of English and have a basic working knowledge of both French and Spanish.

My lengthy career as a teacher includes instruction in reading with a strong emphasis on phonics as well as English to second language learners with a strong emphasis on phonics. I hold state certificates to teach all elementary subjects (K - 8) and ESL.

ESL/ESOL

I am a certified ESOL teacher who has I taught ESOL for over 25 years in Montgomery County, Maryland. I have worked with students of all ages from first grade through adults both as a classroom teacher and as a private tutor. Most of my classroom experience was in a middle school where I was the team leader until I retired in 2010. In addition, I supervised many student teachers and led a workshop for other ESOL teachers.
