I have over 30 years experience in technology and management, including developing training courses using a methodology of learning and excellence in achievement for all the employees that I have mentored.
These teaching methods will work on all age levels - from grade school early learners, through middle and high school emerging scholars, to college students trying to deal with their personal freedom while confronting a scholastic environment requiring a huge change in the way they study and learn, and finally to entry and mid level employees who must function in a fast paced corporate or functional workplace.
I am a firm believer of the saying that goes something like “You can give a person a fish dinner and s/he will eat for a day, but if you teach the person how to fish, they will eat for a lifetime!”
With respect to tutoring someone, I believe there are three major components:
1. Evaluating, understanding, and documenting the individual’s current situation.
2. Developing a plan that identifies the individual’s short and long term goals and objectives.
3. Implementing the plan with age-appropriate learning techniques and subject matter, including continuous follow-up and continuous improvement of the process.
Finally, if all this sounds too daunting or too technical, or targeted to an older age group, please understand that my tutoring techniques are modified to the specific age and subject matter range in question, and it WILL produce excellent results!
