I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Administration. I taught middle and high school science and math and graduate students in an MBA Program. I coached the best high school math team in Palm Beach County for 5 years. My SAT students have shown great improvement. I also home-schooled my son from 1st to 8th grade - he attends Princeton University on a full academic scholarship. In addition, I have experience in high school guidance and can coach students on PSAT, SAT, ACT, ASVAB and GED exams. I have written articles for technical journals, magazines, and websites. I write a journal entry every day. As part of my SAT tutoring, I review grammar, essay writing, vocabulary, sentence structure and Latin roots with my students.

SAT Math

For the last 5 years I have worked with high school students on SAT Math. All my students have improved their scores in this subject. My philosophy on Math is "Practice makes perfect." I teach one or more ways to solve each question. I emphasize the importance of speed and accuracy.

SAT Reading

The last time I took the SAT in October 2008, I scored 800 out of 800.

SAT Writing

I have worked with dozens of students on the writing portion of the SAT. I scored a perfect 12 on the essay by writing a 5 paragraph essay including a thesis, 3 proof statements and a concluding paragraph. I have had students write essays. Then I will either rewrite the whole essay for them or critique the essay line by line with them.

Study Skills

In the 5 years since I began tutoring, I have always emphasized the importance of being organized and developing good study skills. I have taught dozens of students from middle school through graduate school including my son Francis, whom I home-schooled through eighth grade.
