Helping students achieve their full potential is my goal. For over 15 years I have been helping students with all levels of math as well as helping prepare for all parts of the SAT/ACT tests. I am skilled at motivating students to become successful in their subjects. I guarantee you will not be disappointed in the results of my tutoring help. I am now retired from my software engineering profession and am available 24/7 to meet the student's needs. I tutor students in Boca Raton, Parkland, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Lakeworth and other surrounding areas. I tutor in the home of the student or in a nearby local library. I am happy to work with more than one student during a session at my basic session rate. I will consider a lower rate for multiple sessions in a 7 day period.
Fred is a kind, knowledgeable and patient tutor. Our daughter enjoyed working with him. We found him to have a calm attitude and he gave very constructive suggestions. We will be calling him again. We have called him again for both SAT prep and Calculus. He is such a kind, caring and knowledgeable person. He accommodates us whenever we ask including short notice. He is a sweetheart and we love him!
My daughter had done well in math until the 9th grade, and wasn't doing poorly in geometry, but didn't believe she was fully grasping the fundamental building blocks of the subject and was struggling with her confidence. After a mid-range "B" in the first quarter, she had dropped to a "C+" in her second quarter and her test grades were getting progressively worse ahead of her final quarter test and midterm exam. I found Fred, had him evaluate her situation and attempt to identify and address the issues that she was having.
I am extremely pleased with the results. Fred reassured both my daughter and me that she had a strong grasp of the fundamentals, but did identify a few areas that needed strengthening and additional attention. Mostly, he gave her the confidence to believe that she was capable of doing very well. She scored an 89 on her final quarter test to pull her grade up to a "B" for the quarter, and scored a 92 on her midterm. More importantly, Fred has helped restore the proper mindset as she moves ahead with the rest of the school year. And I feel confident knowing that Fred is just a phone call away.
Fred has done an excellent job tutoring my daughter for precalculus. He explains things very clearly and points out tips to make things easier. We are very happy with Fred.
Fred was kind and patient. He had great shortcuts that made a big difference. He explained how to break each problem into sections which made it easier to remember each step and avoid mistakes. I would highly recommend Fred and will surely use his services again if necessary.
I really enjoy Fred's help with my son. My son has learned more about Algebra 1 with Fred then his own teacher. Fred is able to make things very simple for my son.
My son improved his math scores after a few lessons. Reliable and professional. Assessed appropriately where my son needed the most help.
Mr. Fred is a very knowledgeable and patient teacher. He detects clearly and quickly the main issues the student has and works on solving them swiftly
Fred only worked with my son for 4 weeks reviewing math for his ACT exam, and within that time frame was able to review and teach my son some missed concepts that was suppose to be covered in school. From the exceptional tutoring my son achieved a 3 point gain on that portion of the test and can now get into the school of choice. Thank you for helping my son and for being patient and thorough.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
One-on-One is the best way to prep for the ACT. I ask the student to work on math problems prior to the tutoring session. Once i arrive we go over all problems the student did not get correct. During this process I teach any math concepts that have been "forgotten" and teach the student how to analyze each type of question and teach the student how to get to the correct answer.
I help ensure that on test day the student will achieve his best score.
Algebra is a subject which is critical that a student do well in. The ability to master this subject will greatly affect the students performance in all subsequent math classes. The concepts in this course build upon one another. Therefore it is critical that if a student runs into trouble understanding a section that that be immediately corrected. I have helped many students gain the confidence and understanding needed so that math is a subject that can be appreciated instead of feared.
Algebra 2 is a subject which is critical that a student do well in. The ability to master this subject will greatly affect the students perfromance in all subsequent math classes. The concepts in this course build upon one another. Therefore it is critical that if a student runs into trouble understanding a section that the missed concepts be immediately understood. I have helped many students gain the confidence and understanding needed so that math is a subject that can be appreciated instead of feared.
I am currently a retired software engineer. I also currently work in real estate as a licensed real estate broker in Florida (License # BK3071967). My degrees in engineering (BSEE and MEE) and my MBA allow me to help other in developing their careers. I would assist those who request help in areas of my expertise.
College-Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) validates that the student has acquired the knowledge expected of a college graduate. My many year of tutoring math, science, verbal skills and writing skills allows me to help a student prepare for this test. During my college career I have obtained a BSEE, MEE and MBA and therefore am well qualified to help a student pass the CLAST test.
I am a retired software engineer. I have worked for Raytheon company on radar system software for over 30 years.
I have many years of tutoring experience. During those years I have worked with primary school aged students (Elementary (K-6th)) to help them grasp fundamentals of reading and mathematics. Working with younger children has its special rewards as one watches them grow intellectually "right before your eyes."
I have been President of a local Toastmasters group in Massachusetts. This group met at my place of work. I was involved with this group for several years learning the skills needed to become a relaxed, confident and skilled public speaker.
The SAT Math test challenges the problem solving ability of the student and the student's ability to apply mathematical principles to the solution of the stated problem. Over many years of helping students I have the skill to teach the student how to master each type of question they will encounter. By repeated practice and shared problem solving demonstration the student can quickly hones his skill. The goal is for each student to produce a score which accurately reflects his math aptitude. SAT preparation in this one-on-one mode is the most cost effective and time effective method to prepare for the test.
