My name is Ana. As a Cuban born, I'm passionate about Spanish. I love not only teaching the language in a formal way, but also diving into Spanish (and specifically) Cuban culture. I like for my students to dig into music, cooking, and of course, speaking Spanish.
I participated in several National Writing Contests while in school in Havana, and developed a writing style according to the highest expectations from the Ministry of Education. After my arrival to the US, I acquired an English as a Second Language Certification and an Associate in Arts from the College of Lake County in the Chicago area. I have tutored children ages 8 to 15 in the subject and they improved their grade levels within a month of seeing me twice a week. I also tutored primary and secondary school math, science, language arts, and history.
In the past 5 years, I have done several translation jobs with companies overseas in Dubai, Chile, and London. I have developed sales presentations in Spanish and printed media from brochures to instruction manuals.
