I am experienced and adept at teaching both social and business English as well as creative writing and speaking. I sincerely believe that I am the right choice and candidate for such a position as I pride myself in being patient, creative, independent and responsible.
The qualities I possess are essential to teaching English as a foreign language to children, young adults, and adults. After graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology/Psychology in January, 1966, I knew I wanted to continue working to help people improve their verbal and writing skills and also increase cultural understanding. My education did not stop there as I completed most of the work toward obtaining my Master's Degree in Child Psychology while teaching. I did not write my Master's Thesis as I left to enroll in law school.
Mastery of the English language became, of necessity, very important both when obtaining my Juris Doctor and my Master's of Law and the following 25 years as a law practitioner. The English language became my everyday tool. I have completed the 120 hour TEFL professional certification course and in doing so learned a great deal more, and refreshed what I already knew, about the complexities of the English language.
I am interested in experiencing other cultures and have already done so in my many trips to Central and South America, Canada, Europe, the Mideast, Asia and elsewhere in the World. Cultural diversity is something I value greatly and gaining cultural perspectives has become important to me. My desire to teach while exploring other cultures has been with me for a long time.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
