David is a great find! He figured out my son's strengths and weaknesses within the first few sessions. He works hard to help him ease his anxiety and stay focused. His tutor notes are valuable and very insightful. We highly recommend David K!

My son has a better understanding of the material, but is starting a new unit. David is very patient and encourages my son to think about the problems.

For the first time in my life, I feel intelligent. PreCalculus, Calculus, and Statistics are difficult subjects that do not click right away for me. Thankfully, David helps people like me with such mathematical complexity.

He really puts mathematics to life through his upbeat personality. He instills success through his suggestions whether the suggestion be the right way to study or to practice. Honestly, he makes me motivated to accomplish the best that I can.

The main and most valuable thing about this tutor is that he cares so much for his students to succeed!! After 3 different college professors that taught 3 different mathematical subjects at the University of Delaware, David beats each one of them by pi^168932324321.

P.S. if you tried to quantify that, you probably failed, because you cannot quantify the greatness of the tutor known as David K.

I have depended on this tutor when I had no one else to turn to. He helped me understand the concepts and easy to understand his directions.

David is the best, he method of teaching is easy to understand, I wish he was my actual teacher. I am happy after my tutor lesson from him, I feel extra smart after my session with him.

David is a great teacher. My son has so much fun going to his lesson and learning new things every time. This makes me as a mother very happy. My son is looking forward to his lesson with David every week, and that says a lot. Thank you.

My daughter felt so much better after her 1st session with David! She feels he is a wonderful fit for her and will be able to guide her successfully. At her most recent session, Dave was able to give her a couple of study strategies and different ways to solve problems which helped her understand how to complete the Geometry problems she was having great difficultly with. Thanks Dave!

Dave continues to be a big help to our daughter! She ALWAYS feels better once she has a session with him and has a better understanding of the material covered.

Our son has been seeing David K. for approximately 6 months. He has grasped the Math teachings and as time permits, David has helped with other school subjects and also Life Skills -- organization, time management, problem solving. We couldn't be more pleased with David. He is very knowledgeable and puts a lot of off the clock work into making sure the benefit of the tutoring sessions are maximized.

David is a wonderful tutor. My eighth grade daughter, who struggles in math, loves his techniques and his patience. Would recommend him highly!!

David is a patient and flexible math tutor. I gave him the specific chapters and sections that my class was working on each week, and he explained the problems to me step by step, paying special attention to the areas where I struggled. He was flexible enough to comply with my teacher’s methods for solving problems, while also demonstrating his own methods. Thus I was able to consider several ways to solve a given problem and then choose those that seemed more intuitive to me. Additionally, we used Adobe Connect to meet at a time that was convenient to my busy schedule. I sincerely recommend David.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a Delaware and Pennsylvania certified Math teacher who has taught in high school and in college for 15 years. I have been a tutor for students in Algebra 1 for the last 7 years. I understand the difficulties that can be associated with mastering the subject.

Algebra 2 can get complicated for a multitude of reasons, most of which are easily solved by a few simple practices. I have taught an tutored students in Algebra for over 10 years and am a certified math teacher. I explain it all simply so that students understand.

Calculus can be a difficult topic at first. Like most math classes it has a few elementary parts that once grasped lend incite to the rest of the topic. Knowing what a derivative means and how an integral is used are just two of the basic elements. Understanding Calculus lead Newton into greater understanding of Physics and which has lead us to many other places as well.

Chemistry is all about the Periodic Table. Every atom has its own properties and interactions that make it unique. To understand and do well in Chemistry takes a feeling of comfort with the table and exactly what those elements can do.

Teaching Chemistry has always been a wonderful experience for me and I want to share the wonders of Chemistry with you.

Geometry is a foundation class in which so many skills are gained. These skills such as logic, reasoning and spacial geometry are useful not only in future math classes, but in many different careers. Logic and reasoning are used in science, computer programming, medicine, and so many others; while spacial reasoning is used in interior design, architecture and landscaping. Grasping Geometry can be a very important part of a student's future.

Physics is the best and most challenging course that a high school student can take. It not only involves learning about a science which is integrated into every part of our daily lives, whether we are aware of it or not, but it also involves utilizing math and English skills taught over many years because not only do Physicists compute quantities, they explain them as well. It is the only class in high school that really merges separate skills to tackle a single task. It makes you think.

I am a Delaware-certified math teacher who took the Praxis I exam with scores in all areas of 97%. I have also taken the Praxis II exams in Mathematics and Physics receiving passing scores in each. I prepare students to take similar exam such as the ACT and SAT. Many of the techniques are the same as well as the knowledge preparation. With the right tools at your fingertips the test is easily overcome.

Prealgebra is the basis for so much. Every child need to have a good foundation in it. It not only set the stage for math success in Algebra, Geometry and Precalculus, but it also is helpful with success on the SAT and ACT. The basic skills learned in Prealgebra start the pathway that leads students through high school and into college.

Precalculus is that last step in the Algebraic sequence of math taken at the high school level. It takes all the skills learned in Algebra 1&2 to a much deeper level, while at the same time advances several concepts begun in Geometry. The goal of Precalculus is to prepare students for Calculus by exposing them to a variety of graphs and functions which will be used or seen in higher level math. It is a great deal of fun, especially if you like puzzles.

SAT math is all about the logic, not just the problems. Mostly the problems on the SAT are designed to trick you into thinking the wrong way about it and conclude the wrong answer. Strategies can be used to help even the best math student do better and work faster to get more of the answers correct. Practice is the key and I have a great deal to offer.

The SAT reading can be a challenge for many students. For the most part the reading passages are intimidating because the student doesn't know what the topics will be. Being interested in what you read is a great deal more important than most people think, but using proven strategies even the most disinterested reader can do well. The other challenge that goes beyond even the reading section, is vocabulary. Vocabulary isn't taught as much as it used to be and students are at a disadvantage because of this. I teach the vocabulary and vocabulary skills needed to aid my students throughout the test. With practice and preparation all students can do well.

Being ready for school is often a challenge, especially when a student goes to the next level. Being organized and managing time can often be the hard for students facing today's school environment. Not being able to find the right material or the time that you need to complete an assignment leads to greater frustration. Guiding students to become more focused on their work helps them a great deal, but often this is just a start. Students may not know how to study for tests because they never had to do it before or they don't understand how to get the most out of what they read for class. One of the techniques that I utilize is called SQ3R. It helps students study as well as retain information that they read or learn about in class. Learning is all about the connections that we make in our brain and how we make them. The better that we can connect the information the easier it will be to get better grades. Your child's learning style is important to his/her growth in the educational environment. Knowing his/her strengths and weaknesses will aid him/her in developing strategies to cope with and to overcome his/her learning difficulties. Learning can be fun and easy as long as you have the right tools
