University of Baltimore (Accounting)
I have lived in Fenwick Island for 17 years. I was an accountant for 16 years. I am passionate about accounting and love working in it and teaching it. Every place I have worked, my co-workers who were in a support role have said I'm the best teacher they've ever had, whether I was teaching them finance, mortgages or accounting. They all say the same thing about me. I am very patient. I explain not only the how to do something, but also the why and what the effect will be if it is done right and the effect if it is done wrong. I have learned that the biggest challenge with learning accounting is understanding how each entry plays a part in the accounting books. I have been able to teach friends, co-workers, even family members who thought accounting was like a foreign language how to understand the concepts and use them. I also get great pleasure out of helping people and making a difference in others' lives. I also teach math, english and writing

I also use my student's interest to teach them by relating their interest to the subject I'm teaching. I have lived in Fenwick Island for 17 years. I was an accountant for 16 years. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have had to balance corporate check books with $33 million in monthly transactions and was able to identify all but about $5.00. I have set up accounting books for my own company in the past. I taught a student from Salisbury University accounting and he was a D student. At the end of the semester, he was a B student.
