Guten Tag! My name is Molly and I am looking forward to helping you/your child improve in German!
I recently completed my student teaching placement at Archmere Academy, a college-preparatory school in Claymont, DE. I also have two years of teaching experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Delaware, where I earned my Master of Arts degree in German and Foreign Language Pedagogy. While at the University of Delaware, I also completed coursework in teacher preparation, and I expect to receive my Delaware and Pennsylvania teaching certifications in the near future. I attained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in German and International Studies from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where I also spent three years as a German tutor. I also have experience studying and living in Germany. In 2007-2008, I studied abroad in Bamberg, Germany for ten months, and in summer 2012, I spent five weeks in Berlin studying the history of multiculturalism in Germany as part of an NEH Summer Scholar professional development seminar.
As previously noted, I have several years of tutoring and teaching experience. My tutoring methods reflect my teaching methods, which are founded in second language acquisition research and tailored to address each student’s unique learning style. I believe that communication in German is very important; therefore, in addition to targeting the areas the student wishes to improve, we will also devote a portion of each session to speaking the language.
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Auf Wiedersehen!
