I have been writing professionally for trade and consumer publications since 1990. My main focus has been on the international casino and gaming industry in the areas of marketing, technology, legislation and investment. I have also prepared scripts, press releases and promotional materials for television productions of poker tournaments, and copy edited two books on poker. In addition, I have experience as a song lyricist.

Ironically, my most intensive study of English came while living abroad in the Netherlands in the 1980s and 1990s. After teaching myself Dutch, I began to work professionally as a translator of Dutch into English. In the course of that work I found the need to improve my understanding of English grammar.

ESL/ESOL

I tutored ESL to individual Dutch and Indonesian nationals while living in the Netherlands. Approaches included one-hour conversational meetings as well as full-day, total immersion techniques.
