Over the years as a rabbi I have been a teacher and tutor to hundreds of students preparing for B'nai Mitzvah with great results. In my many years in congregational life I have related to children from kindergarten to high school and taught them well. Now, as I move on in life, I want to expand my tutoring responsibilities by offering my skills in a variety of settings. Yes, I believe that I AM smarter than a fifth grader and have the knowledge to help children in many fields, math, English, history, etc. Though it goes back many years, I did extremely well on my SAT's and GRE's and I have increased my skills and abilities as the years have moved on. I treat students with respect and don't talk down to them, providing my full attention. Elementary (K-6th)

I have been working with young people throughout my entire professional life, both in the classroom and on a one-to one basis. Early on, I worked at a school for emotionally disturbed youngsters with success. I feel that I can put my talents to work to help youngster. The key is to raise the confidence level of students so that they feel they can succeed and compete with others in the classroom.

Religion

As a rabbi, I have studied and immersed myself in the study of religion. While I feel qualified in instructing students in Judaism, I have worked in the public sphere with people of all faiths. I would feel comfortable teaching my own faith or helping students who want to learn about comparative religion.

Public Speaking

As a member of the clergy, I have been involved in public speaking all of my adult life. It didn't come easy for me, but as time passed, I learned to feel more at ease and more adept at the art. I learned not only how to use a text but how to speak off the cuff. After all these years, I feel that I am qualified to help others develop the capacity to speak in front of an audience.
