Hello All!

I am currently a graduate student at Wilmington University and should be finished with my degree by December 2012! I am studying Elementary Education. Working with kids has always been a part of my life. When I was obtaining my undergraduate degree I worked as an aide in a middle school English class. Once I finished college, I started tutoring in Math, and I loved seeing the light bulb go off, when everything finally clicked for my student. I am currently interning in a kindergarten classroom and I love it. I love watching the students learn and I love watching their light bulbs go off when they understand the information. When I tutor I try to figure out how the student learns best, and I work with that method. I look for worksheets and workbooks that can provide extra help as well as any extra advice that may be needed. I also do the work on my own, so the student and I are able to compare how we obtained our answers. I also let the parents know what we're working on and try to get them involved as well.

I am currently finishing my master's degree in Elementary Education. I started off the school year working as a one-on-one para with a kindergarten student with special needs, before being transferred to a level IV special ed para. I have also had the experience to substitute teach. I've worked with kids from K-12.

I swam my whole life. When I was younger I was a lifeguard, a swim teacher, and a swim coach. I enjoy the sport very much and I love teaching it.
