I hold both a BA and an MA in English, the BA with a focus on creative writing, and the MA with a focus on non-fiction writing. I have over ten years of experience as a professional writer and editor for government and non-profit organizations. I have experience teaching creative writing, expository writing, literary analysis and ESL to groups and individuals of all ages. I love the subject matter. Talking about writing and literature and close readings and analysis of writing is my passion! I love to open the doors of this subject to people.

I am a native of the District, and live in Tenleytown with my three kids--all of whom attend DC public schools--and my husband. My feature articles, essays, and short fiction have appeared in publications ranging from the Foreign Service Journal and the Washington Post to Brain, Child magazine, the Huffington Post and more.

I look forward to working with area students who already love to write and read, or who need a little help learning to love to write and read!
