Ever since I was 10 years old, I remember being fascinated with computers. I wanted to know how all the programs worked and how the computer
worked. My fascination with computers only increased when I took computer science
classes in high school. When the time came for me to attend college, I chose computer science
at one of the best engineering schools in the country, Cal
Poly San Luis Obispo. Go Mustangs! While there, I branched out and got an interdisciplinary degree in computer science and criminal justice
and minored in computer science. I currently work with computers, both hardware and software, in my current job.
I've taken over 10 different computer science classes, eight at the collegiate level and have easily spent hundreds of hours either writing
code or taking apart computers. All of my time spent learning about and interacting with computers has taught me one thing: you're always smarter than the computer, even if you don't know it yet. Computers and programming
can seem daunting at first, but I believe that I can explain in to you in a logical, concise, and manner in which you can understand it. I understand that everyone has a different way of learning, and I look forward to finding out which way each of my student learns so that I can best serve them.
Additionally, I have two younger sisters and my job as always been helping them with their math
homework. In terms of math, I have tutored mostly elementary and middle school aged children and feel confident in my abilities to help your child grasp concepts that might at first seem frustrating, both to you and them. Math really is a language
, just like English
, and I look forward to helping your children understand it.
