My name is Obasomidotun, and I am a recent graduate of Howard University. Due to the complexities surrounding my very traditional name, a majority of my friends and colleagues refer to me as AJ. I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics and Sociology. I am very passionate about empowering individuals by providing them with the academic tools they require to achieve their goals (whether completing a difficult course or improving their performance on standardized tests). This is one of the many reasons I decided to work as a tutor during this transition into graduate school. My strong mathematical and economics background have been a significant asset during this time.
Thus far, I have been privileged to serve as a guide to many students who face academic challenges particularly in the area of mathematics. More than being able to use my knowledge to positively impact the lives of others, tutoring provides me with the opportunity to share in their joy when they are finally able to accomplish those tasks that seemed unattainable. I enjoy tutoring because I truly believe that everyday I tutor another student, I am able to make a difference(however little) in his/her life.
While working as a tutor, I have had students from diverse backgrounds who have needed help with trigonometry, geometry, algebra and other math classes. I am very patient and will work until the student understands the material. I look forward to working with more students and helping them gain confidence in achieving their goals.
