My name is Erik and I'm a passionate educator, dedicated to helping each and every one of my students succeed. I went to Penn State University to study Kinesiology and Medicine, but while working in healthcare I gradually learned that teaching was the field for me. Since changing career paths, I've tutored in urban middle schools, planned lessons for ESL high school classes, and taught English for the South Korean government for over one year. Additionally, I have experience in television production, finance, autism therapy, youth mentoring, freelance writing, and various other industries.
My biggest strength as a tutor is patience. Although I excelled in school, there were of course times when I felt lost. During these moments, I experienced two types of teachers. Those who make a student feel inferior, and those who take responsibility and help students realize that a lack of understanding isn't a reflection on their intelligence or ability. I strive to instill confidence in my clients that will not only help them succeed in a particular subject, but help them approach their future lives with the right attitude.
Please feel free to reach out to me at any time, and I look forward to helping!
