Hello,

My name is Patrick and I am excited about the opportunity to tutor your student! Ever since I was in high school myself I have had a drive to work with young people to develop their abilities and help them reach their potential. There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of someone growing and improving themselves, and helping a person to set lofty goals and then meet them is a truly exhilarating experience. I have been a part of this as a peer tutor, tutor to younger students, and then as a coach of young people once I left college, and it has always been a very meaningful and important experience for me.

As for my educational background, I went to high school here in Arlington, VA, and from there went on to Carnegie Mellon University where I earned by BS in Mechanical Engineering. While this does mean my formal background is primarily in Math and Science, I have also always had a passion for history, literature, and music as well.

Professionally I work as a Systems Engineer for a defense contractor in Washington, DC, and am thus available to meet most evenings and weekends.

In addition to my day job, I have five years of experience coaching tackle football in Northern Virginia, and the players I have coached have ranged all the way from 4th graders to high school seniors. My philosophy has always been one that emphasizes teaching, positive reinforcement, accountability, and the celebration of growth and accomplishments. I have been a part of both extremely successful and unsuccessful teams by win-loss standard, but every group I have worked with has grown immensely as players, teammates, and as young men and women, which is our ultimate goal as coaches every season.

I look forward to working with your student, and to being a small part of them achieving their goals and becoming all that they are capable of.

Thank You,
Patrick
