Hello!

I am a fun, passionate, and intelligent tutor offering private tutoring sessions for students of all ages. I am originally from Los Angeles, but I graduated from Tulane University (B.S. '12 in mathematical economics) in New Orleans, LA. I liked economics and math because it can always be applied to the real world. I think it is really important to understand how these concepts apply. Not only does it help to pass the class, but it's also what being educated is all about! The summer after I graduated, I taught elementary, middle and high school math. This experience was very difficult, but I learned a lot.

Now I am a current GW student (M.S. '15 in international trade and investment policy). Like I said, I have experience teaching. I have also been tutoring students in a variety of subjects for many years. My friends always came to me when they needed help with economics or math. In addition to the tutoring and teaching experience, I also have extensive research experience in applying the subjects I tutor. This research experience was conducted in world-class research institutions such as UCLA, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and Tulane Law School. I currently work at a boutique economic consulting firm. All of this experience fills my tutoring with great examples. I look forward to meeting with you.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Econometrics

I am qualified to teach econometrics because I have taken coursework in Economic Statistics. I also worked as a TA for Economic Statistics. I have self-studied econometrics and currently work as an economic consultant where I apply econometrics every day.

SAS

I work in economic consulting and use SAS every day. I also have taken a course at GW that relied on SAS programming.
